Financial Systems Project Manager

 

 

 

Reporting to CFO 

The role is based in the Cambridge office full time.

Core working hours will be 9:00 am - 5:30 pm but you will be expected to work additional hours as required. 


The Role - Manager

=       Responsible for the line management of any finance development team members. Including managing the cover of work due to team holidays/sickness.

=       Responsibility for the recruitment for new team members and ensuring the relevant training and monitoring of all direct reports.

The Role - Compliance

=       Ensure all UK financial systems compliance.

=       Coordinating system processes and ensuring data integrity.

=       Producing new documentation and process mapping.

=       Ensure that the appropriate controls are in place within the finance system/ processes.

The Role - Processes and reporting

=       Upgrade, design, test and complete configuration to Implement Sage 200 or other system updates including an intercompany console, project accounting and other new modules required by the business.

=       Upgrade, design, build, data migration and test new systems e.g. management reporting systems and dash boards.

=       Building the automation of processes. E.g. suppliers to bank payments, expenses, Bank uploads.

=       Developing, upgrading the budget and forecast files ready for the budget process.

=       Report design and testing.

=       Reviewing the current processes and documents, working with the finance team members to design and continually improve both process and system and ensuring all process documentation is in place.

=       Monitoring the system and processes flows e.g. the closure of all the relevant subsidiary accounts and the closure of all the ledgers can be completed in a timely manner.

=       Developing an automated process to ensure exchange rates set in the system and that the relevant inputs are available to set the rates.

=       Training staff in the use of new reports and systems as developed.

=       Maintenance of finance systems.

=       Work with development on all finance projects as necessary, including help with scoping and testing.

=       Manage ad hoc queries assigned and ensure the smooth running of the system at all times.

Desirable - Knowledge and skills

=       Sage line 200/ ERP implementations, configuration, data migration and go live

=       Sage/ERP maintenance

=       End user training

=       Process development and quality improvement

=       Business analysis

=       Project management

=       SQL and data structure knowledge

=       Excellent knowledge of report design & testing

=       Professional accounting qualification, AAT, CIMA, Finance BA, (helpful not essential).

=       Strong investigatory skills - able to discover, analyses and resolve issues that arise.

=       Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.

=       Able to manage your own time and handle multi-task delivery to short timescales.

=       Willing to work all necessary hours to complete essential tasks particularly during busy periods.

=       Self-motivated individual able to proactively find solutions to problems/challenges in all internal finance operational issues.
