The Role

Reporting to SVP APAC, the Account Director role is to closely engage with Japanese MNOs, Japanese merchants including Amazon Japan and Japanese app developers. This engagement is in the support of existing business and in the development of new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Operational activities support for Amazon Japan Payment and Resale
  • Support any business issues and requests arising out of MNOs and Amazon JP closely working with teams in UK, SVP APAC and an engineer in Japan office.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with both MNOs and Merchants to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Communication support to technical team including technical team in UK and an engineer in Japan office. This may require intensive Japanese-English translation.
  • Communication point for SMBC bank under the guidance of SVP, APACC and finance team. This will not include any responsibility of any fund moving operations.

Business Development

  • Assist SVP APAC for MNO sales activities in Japan.

 - New payment routes for major Merchants

- Upgrade of Google DCB routes to benefit from Bango Platform

- Develop new business for other payment mechanisms beyond DCB 

- Expansion of YouTube Premium, Disney etc into Japan

  • Business development to assist Data suppliers to benefit from Bango Marketplace
  • Support communication between Japanese developers and App Developer team

Essentials:

  • Native in Japanese and Fluent English speaker
  • Ability to work in Japan from Bango Japan Tokyo office 
  • Strong business acumen, experience dealing with large enterprise.
  • Experience in a global company dealing with UK/US people of all levels.
  • Strong communicator in both Japanese and English – verbal and written
  • Experience in building close relationships with people of all levels

Desirables:

  •  Experience of direct carrier billing, payment or OTT sales
  •  Financial knowledge, basic accounting
  • Capable or reading English legal document
  •  Understanding of HTTP and web services
  • Technical or support experience

Location

  • The role is based in our Bango Japan Tokyo office
  • Visits to Bango Cambridge UK HQ every 3-4 months
